THE RESULTS ARE IN!

[BEFORE READING OUR RESULTS, CHECK OUT OUR LAST TWO POSTS!]

After asking 100 people, 50 men and 50 women, Team Mischief came up with their own results for the "What Men and Women Find Attractive" Survey. The objective of our experiment was to show 100 people the photo posted in our previous blog of four women labeled A, B, C, D. From this, each person is to choose one girl that they find most attractive, and for women we modified the question to be, which one you find most attractive or would want to be.

The difference of the women is in their hip-to-wait ratios. The ideal hip-to-waist ration is embodied in woman "C", her waist is 7/10ths the size of her hips; which is (according to the study) the perfect ratio. Women with this ratio are apparently more likely to have babies, able to get pregnant easier, conceive earlier in life, and have fewer miscarriages. Therefore, they were more appealing to men (and apparently to women as our study showed).

In the study we watched on youtube.com the results were as follows:
A: 2=10%
B: 0=0%
C: 15=68%
D: 5=22%

IN OUR STUDY we got THESE RESULTS:
FOR MEN:
---> A: 8=16%
---> B: 4=8%
---> C: 26=52%
---> D: 12=24%
FOR WOMEN:
---> A: 9=18%
---> B: 3=6%
---> C: 25=50%
---> D: 13=26%

Not only did our results match those that we saw on the FirstScience.tv video, but also, the results we found were almost identical in both genders which was an interesting conclusion. The majority (50-52%) chose option "C", the second most popular option (24-26%) was option "D", the third most popular option (16-18%) was "A", and the last option was (6-8%) was option "B". We were surprised at how close the results were to each other. From these results we drew some possible conclusions:

[1] Women want to be most like "C" because she is the 'curvy' woman that the media asks us to be.
[2] The male projects his ideal of the perfect woman, "C", and in turn women assemble a desire to be that ideal.

When we asked men why they chose this answer ("C") many said things like:
"She is the curvy one. ", "I'm a sucker for big hips.", "Her positioning is more attractive", "She has that hour glass figure."

When we asked women why they chose this answer ("C") many said things like:
"She's the the one I would like to look like.", "She is curvy, and curvy is considered beautiful.", "That's what I should look like."

These responses confirmed our conclusions that the media and the male ideal are the reason as to why women feel like they need to have the hip-to-waist ration of option "C".

Overall, after completing our experiment the results remained consistent with what we thought we would see. However, there was definitely the occasional person to say, "I know most people will pick "C" but I much rather prefer this option". It was nice to hear that even under impulse (a.k.a. a random person coming up to you and asking you a question) people were still able to think it through.
